The Church and Our Children
I am becoming increasingly concerned with the state of the “Christian” churches in this country. While the vast majority of them rightfully concern themselves with the message of salvation through God’s son Jesus Christ, aren’t we also called upon as Christians to care for our planet and those that inhabit the earth? Why is it so hard then, to get the message out that we are poisoning our children and our planet? When I speak to Christians about the vaccine issue, I get the same response: “what about Polio?” Unfortunately, they don’t stick around long enough for the answer.

New Jersey Bill Requires Autism Treatment Insurance Coverage
Here at AutismOne we hear a constant stream of stories of families facing financial disaster due to high cost of caring for an autistic child. A primary culprit pertains to insurance. In many cases health insurance simply is not available that covers autism or else the premiums are so high as to be prohibitive. "Oh, That's Just The Autism"
DS was a happy, gentle, high functioning Autistic toddler. Since there was no delay in when he began speaking, DS's needs were effectively communicated. As such, he was immersed, like any child, in the bliss of early childhood. At the time I worked in childcare. DS being my only child, I routinely spoke of how comparatively high maintenance were the regular kids I cared for at work. I often heard myself say things like, "I'll take my Autistic child any day" and that, "regular kids are over-rated", in a LOL, "isn't this ironic?" sort of way.
