Join the authors—each with a new book to share—in a conversation about stunning new truths, strength in numbers, and the surprising impact of “no thanks.”

Rolf Hazelhurst, Esq.
On November 29, 2012, Congress held the first hearing on autism in 10 years. It was a momentous day for our community and it has been said that more hearings will come. In addition, this year the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) compensated two new cases for children who developed autism. The members of our panel are some of the many people who have been on the frontlines to witness and to fight for these small victories in Washington. They will be giving an update on what they have been working on and what they see in the future from Congress and from the VICP. There will also be a question and answer section with our panel at the end of their presentation.
Rolf Hazlehurst, Esq. is an attorney and has practiced law for eighteen years. His son's case, Hazlehurst v. The United States Department of Health and Human Services was the second test case in the Omnibus Autism Proceeding under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

Our presentation will focus on how to coordinate care in the “medical” setting. Parents and advocates for people diagnosed with autism have difficulty in obtaining medical treatment because of the behavioral diagnosis of Autism. Medical Professionals see only the behaviors. We will review the underlying medical conditions that are found in Autism and how to obtain treatment.
Sonja Hintz, is a registered nurse and the mother of a sixteen year-old son, Alexander, who no longer has autism. Through the use of therapeutic dietary intervention, biomedical treatments and other therapies, Alex has made a recovery. Sonja currently provides biomedical treatments in private practice. Sonja and Alex are also coauthors of a chapter in Vaccine Epidemic.
Mary Holland, Esq.
Can I get a philosophical exemption in my state? Do I need to practice a certain religion to get a religious exemption? Can my child’s school deny my exemption or question my religious sincerity? Vaccine exemptions are something that are very important to families of children with autism but are different state to state and can be complicated if you don’t know where to start. Our panel of experts has years of experience working with both advocacy groups and individuals to help them navigate the many obstacles around vaccine exemptions. They will be telling you everything you need to know about your vaccine exemption rights and how to find helpful resources in your state.
Mary is director of the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy and a board member of the Center for Personal Rights. She is a Research Scholar at NYU Law School and previously practiced at major international law firms and worked for an international human rights organization. She researches and writes on legal issues related to autism and to vaccination and is the Legal Editor for the Autism File magazine.
Brian S. Hooker, PhD, PE
Since 2004, Dr. Brian Hooker has submitted over 100 FOIA requests to the CDC regarding Thimerosal and autism. The documents revealed CDC scientists colluded to cover up the causal relationship between Thimerosal in vaccines and autism. Because CDC is withholding many more relevant documents, Hooker and attorney Robert Reeves are in Federal Court to compel CDC to release the information.

Parents deal with gut issues on a daily basis. Many parents of children with Down's Syndrome deal with the same GI problems experienced by those with autism. Digestive enzymes from non-animal sources can often improve many problems associated with food intolerance and malabsorption. This lecture will help parents understand what enzymes are and how they work in digestive health.
Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA)
Congressman Darrell Issa serves as the current Chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Congressmen Burton and Weldon, MD helped define the modern autism movement. Their pursuit of truth validated the vaccine connection, pointing to the corruption of the CDC as the cause. Congressman Posey continues the fight to find answers. They talk about Congress' role and what you can do to help. This is an hour presentation followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.
Among his many achievements Congressman Darell Issa is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where he serves as the Chairman. Congressman Issa was responsible for convening the most recent Congressional autism hearing, in November 2012.
