Alison Singer Shill Threatens AutismOne

A number of years ago Alison Singer burst on the scene as Communication Director in a fundraiser for Autism Speaks as the overwhelmed parent ready to drive off a bridge with her affected child onboard.

I advised parents to ignore her message of despair. My recommendation to parents remains in effect.

Ms. Singer left Autism Speaks to form an organization, funded in part by Paul Offit, called Autism Science Foundation. The objective of the Autism Science Foundation is to discount any possible link between vaccines and autism and to persuade parents to vaccinate their children according to the AMA and AAP schedules.

Last week we posted Ms. Singer’s presentation on how to convince parents to immunize their children HERE. The original title of the presentation was “Making the CASE for Vaccine Safety: A new Method of Communicating with Parents.”

We renamed the presentation, “Vaccine Apologist Speaks” and the date of the presentation is the date it first appeared on AutismOne Radio, hardly an attempt to mislead parents.

Below is an email threatening possible legal action from the folks who sponsored Ms. Singer’s latest presentation.

Mr. Arranga,

It has come to my attention upon visiting your website www.autismone.org that you have posted the audio from a recent webcast produced by the Center for Public Health Continuing Education at the School of Public Health, University at Albany.

You have posted this without permission from us and without providing the appropriate link to our website http://www.albany.edu/sph/coned/

You erroneously state on the website that the “show” originally aired Saturday 12/11/10 at 3pm, when in fact it was originally broadcast 12/9/10 at 12pm ET from our studio.

The title of our production is “Making the CASE for Vaccine Safety: A new Method of Communicating with Parents” whereas you have identified the audio as “Vaccine Apologist Speaks.”

I request that you immediately remove this audio from your website. Not only have you posted it without permission, you have misled the visitors to your site as to the origin of the production.

I have copied Mr. John Reilly, Senior Counsel, University at Albany on this email.

I appreciate your attention to this matter.
