Autism and Medical Cannabis

This is a parent’s personal perspective on the use of medical cannabis on their children with autism, and its effectiveness on symptoms such as seizures, anxiety, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, and pain. This is our holistic approach to treating the various symptoms of autism when conventional medications stopped yielding results.

Nathan Coombs, MEd

Nathan Coombs is the father of 4 children. The two oldest, ages 15 and 13, have autism. Their diagnoses that inspired Coombs to enter the field of Special Education. He has been an educator for 10 years and is in a Doctoral Program in Teaching and Learning. He is also a co-owner of a medical cannabis collective, The Autism & Compassionate Care Connection, which specializes in cultivating strains of medical cannabis for individuals with autism who suffer from seizures, pain, anxiety, etc.

Rhonda Morris

Rhonda Morris is the mother of two children with autism. Her daughter's diagnosis of autism prompted her to move into Special Education Advocacy. Fifteen years later, when her daughter began having seizures triggered by autism, Morris became active in promoting medical cannabis for individuals with autism. She is a co-owner of a medical cannabis collective, The Autism Compassionate & Care Connection, which specializes in cultivating strains of medical cannabis organically.
