Effective Osteopathic and Integrative Treatments for Autism - Intensive Course for Healthcare Professionals

Dr. Shawn K. Centers will explain why osteopathic / body-based and other integrative treatments are helpful to an overall clinical treatment plan for the patient with autism and related disorders.

Dr. Centers will illustrate how restrictions to structural components of the body adversely impact other bodily systems such as the immune system, the lymphatic system, the nervous system, and the gastrointestinal system.

He will explain how the physician arrives at a differential diagnosis and the importance of thorough intake.

Dr. Centers will explain the role of objective laboratory testing and how lab results inform the physician as to the ongoing treatment plan.

Dr. Centers will offer explanations about other integrative treatments, such as essential oils, light therapy, and auditory integration therapy, providing rationale as to why these might be included, their efficacy, and how these treatments work in synergy with other treatments for overall wellness and increased function.
