Autism International Association, Inc (a non-profit California corporation) is the exclusive owner and operator of the website AutismOne.org.

DEFINITIONS

The following define specific terminology as used in this Privacy Policy statement.

 “Our Website” and “This Website” refer specifically to the website AutismOne.org.

 “Service(s)” refers to information, products and services provided in pages of This Website.

"We" and "Us" means Autism International Association, Inc or any successor or assignee.

A “Member” is a person who has registered through our online registration process thereby providing him/her access to certain services not available to non-members.

A “Visitor” is any user of This Website who has not registered as a Member.

A “User” is any person, Member or Visitor, who visits This Website.

“you” and “your” refers to the user of This Website, whether a registered member or a non-registered visitor. As such you are granted the right to use This Website and its related services to the extent permitted respectively to Members and Visitors by respecting the applicable Terms of Use described in Our Terms of Use.

“PII” means Personally Identifiable Information such as your full name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, or credit card number. “non-PII” means information not personally identifiable to you, such as your Zodiac sign, your occupation and education.

your “Profile” is all the information you enter when registering. This includes both PII and non-PII information.

This Privacy Policy statement is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the PII and other information you enter when becoming a Member. You should use this to help you make informed decisions when using any features of Our Website that request such information. By becoming a Member you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes Our use and sharing of Profile and other information that you voluntarily provide to Us.  This Privacy Policy applies to all services offered by Us.

From time to time We may modify this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in industry standards or the law, our PII collection and use practices, or the features of Our Services. Such modifications shall be effective upon posting on Our Website. Your continued use of the Our Services after We post a revised Privacy Policy signifies your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. It is therefore important that you review this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure you are updated as to any changes. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit Our Website as either a Member or non-member we collect your browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all Our Website visitors. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies." A cookie is a piece of data stored on the your computer tied to information about you. We use session ID cookies to confirm that you are logged in. These cookies terminate once the you close your browser. By default, We use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to Our Website. When you register with Our Website, you voluntarily provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, your email address, your telephone number, your address, your gender, schools attended and any other personal or preference information. As a Member you may set up your personal profile, form relationships, send messages, perform searches and queries, form groups, set up events, add applications, and transmit information through various channels. We collect this information so that we can provide you the service and offer personalized features. In most cases, we retain it so that, for instance, you can return to view prior messages you have sent or easily see your friend list. When you update information, we usually keep a backup copy of the prior version for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior version of that information.

Any User purchasing goods from Our online Store will automatically have a Member profile created with a username and email. If You do not want to participate in or be a part of the AutismOne Social Network then please delete your profile.

You post User Content (as defined in the Our Website Terms of Use) on Our Website at your own risk. Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that content you post on Our Website will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on Our Website. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of all or part of your Profile and other information may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your User Content.

Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on Our Website is a violation of the Our Website Terms of Service and should be reported by clicking the link “Report Abuses” at the bottom of these Website pages.

If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will send your friend an email or instant message in your name inviting him or her to visit the site, and may send up to two reminders to them. Our Website stores this information to send invitations and reminders, to register a friend connection if your invitation is accepted, to allow you to see invitations you have sent, and to track the success of our referral program.

Our Website may also collect information about you from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other users of Our Website service through the operation of the service (e.g., photo tags) in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience.

CHANGING OR REMOVING INFORMATION

Access and control over most of your personal information on Our Website is readily available through Our profile editing tools. As a Member you may modify or delete any of your profile information or deactivate your account at any time by logging into your account. Information will be updated immediately. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to members of Our Site.

If you ask Us to stop using your PII, We will honor that request while retaining any record of your PII that is necessary to comply with applicable federal, state or local law.

When you make use of the communication features of Our service to share information with other individuals on Our Site (e.g., sending a personal message to another User) you generally cannot remove such communications.

OUR USE OF YOUR PII

We will only use your PII that you provide under this Privacy Policy in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. If We obtain PII from a third party, such as a business partner, our use of that information is also governed by this Privacy Policy.

We allow Users to browse for certain of your Profile in order to help connect with Members.  Search engines may index the portion of your Profile that is publicly displayed.

If you have consented to receive promotional materials (e.g., newsletters) or notifications from Us, We may periodically use your email address to send you such materials related to the Our services, as applicable. If you want to stop receiving such materials from Us, you can change your profile or follow the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

Our employees, agents and contractors must have a business reason to obtain access to your PII. We may share your PII with those who help us manage or provide Our services’ information activities (for example, message board administration, order fulfillment, statistical analyses, data processing), or with outside contractors, agents or sponsors who help us with the administration, judging and prize fulfillment aspects of contests, promotions and sweepstakes.

These outside contractors, agents or sponsors may temporarily store some information on their servers, but they may only use your PII to provide Us with a specific service and not for any other purpose. We may also provide your PII to a third party in those instances where you have chosen to receive certain information and have been notified that the fulfillment of such a request requires the sharing of your PII. We also may share your PII with Affiliated Companies if it has a business reason to do so.

As described herein, We may customize the advertising and marketing messages you receive on the Our Website, or may work with outside companies to do so. Your non-PII and/or Profile Information may be shared with these companies so this customization can be accomplished. We prohibit these companies from sharing any such information with any third party or from using it for any other purpose. Anonymous click stream, number of page views calculated by pixel tags, and aggregated demographic information may also be shared with Our advertisers and business partners.

There may be instances when We may access or disclose your Profile Information without providing you a choice in order to: (i) protect or defend Our legal rights or property, our Affiliated Companies or their employees, agents and contractors (including enforcement of our agreements); (ii) protect the safety and security of Users of the Our Services or members of the public including acting in urgent circumstances; (iii) protect against fraud or for risk management purposes; or (iv) comply with the law or legal process. In addition, if We sell all or part of Our business or make a sale or transfer of all or a material part of its assets or are otherwise involved in a merger or transfer of all or a material part of Our business, We may transfer your PII to the party or parties involved in the transaction as part of that transaction.

When a Member who is located in the European Union chooses to post Profile Information that will be publicly disclosed, that Member is responsible for ensuring that such information conforms to all local data protection laws. We are not responsible under the EU local data protection laws for Member-posted information.

Except as described in this Privacy Policy, We will obtain your permission before we use the PII you provide to us in a way that is inconsistent with the purpose for which it was submitted or share your PII with third parties that are not affiliated with Us.
