The Right to Refuse

In June 2014, in the matter of Mary Check, a lawsuit on behalf of a little girl from New York City who has been denied both a medical and religious exemption from vaccines, is going to Court to challenge the denial and her exclusion from kindergarten. In Mary’s case, her parents have petitioned the Federal Court in the Eastern District of New York [Brooklyn] for a ruling on whether or not the US Childhood Immunization Program that Mary is being subjected to violates her constitutional rights, including her right of due process to refuse the vaccines.
