Dissolving Amyloid Plaques in Autism and DS - A novel treatment of Trehalose - Dr. Jared Skowron

On May 23, 2014, 3:41 pm

Amyloid plaques are present in the brain of people with multiple neurological conditions, including DS, autism, and Alzheimer's. This 'scarring' of the brain prevents correct brain function, new neuron connections, learning and development. Research on a novel treatment, trehalose, has shown benefit in Alzheimer's, but has not been researched on pediatric patients. Dr. Skowron will give the results of his research studies on Trehloase in children, showing benefits in behavior and learning.
