EBCALA Morning Keynote: Human Rights and Autism: Authors of Vaccine Epidemic
Co-editors and contributing authors to the recent book, Vaccine Epidemic: How Corporate Greed, Biased Science and Coercive Government Threaten Our Human Rights, Our Health and Our Children, will address its central premise, that vaccination choice is a fundamental human right. They focus on this legal premise’s implications for the autism community.
Mary Holland, Esq., BA, MA, JD
Mary is director of the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy and a board member of the Center for Personal Rights. She is a Research Scholar at NYU Law School and previously practiced at major international law firms and worked for an international human rights organization. She researches and writes on legal issues related to autism and to vaccination and is the Legal Editor for the Autism File magazine.
Kim Mack Rosenberg, Esq., BA, JD
Kim is a litigator in New York City, focusing on products liability, class actions, and insurance coverage disputes. In 2009 she was recognized by the Legal Aid Society for her pro bono service. In addition to being on the board of both EBCALA and the Center for Personal Rights, Kim is the President of the National Autism Association NY Metro Chapter. She also is a contributing editor and chapter author of the newly-released "Vaccine Epidemic."
Alison MacNeil, BA, MSW
Alison graduated from Trinity College, CT with a BA in Art History and received her MSW from Smith College School for Social Work in 1994. Since 1994 she has been living in Cambridge, MA and working as a psychotherapist first in Community Mental Health in Brockton, MA and then for Beth Israel/Deaconness Medical Center in Boston. She also taught at Boston College in their MSW program for five years. For the past six years she has been primarily at home caring for her two children; Neely, 10 and Nick who is 6 and has Autism. She has been a Rescue Angel for three years. Her family was highlighted in the recent PBS series Autism Now. This is her third AutismOne conference.
James S. Turner, JD, JD
Jim represents businesses, individuals and consumer groups in a wide variety of regulatory matters concerning food, drug, health, environmental and product-safety matters. He has appeared before every major consumer regulatory agency, including the FDA, EPA, FTC, and NIH. Jim has served as special counsel to the Senate Select Committee on Food, Nutrition, and Health and to the Senate Government Operations Subcommittee on Government Research.
