Happy Holidays to all our friends here at Autism One....

Dear Friends,

I wanted to wish you a Happy Holiday and bring you up to date on the Brunett Family.

I would like to reflect on my family’s year giving you a brief update on what has been happening with the Brunetts. Starting with Jordan, he is doing amazing. Rick and I couldn’t be more proud of him. He is having the best school year ever. His grades are excellent and he speaks highly of his teachers.

Over the summer Jordan and I looked at colleges. Presently he feels he would like to major in journalism, specializing in sports broadcasting. He is looking into North Central University.

There, they have a radio station that is comparable to KISS- FM. This is a very popular radio station in Chicago. He would have the opportunity to shadow a college student who is a radio announcer, starting in his freshman year and serve an internship with ESPN’s Mike and Mike in the morning show. It doesn’t get any better than that! Sports is his obsesstion(:

Jordan is still bowling and mastering the game of poker, once a month he plays with my girlfriend Diane's Harley group called Ride Now. Every year this group has a run for autism to raise funds for research. Extremely accepting and patient people. On many occasions, Jordan has come home a winner. Who knew? This is a kid who didn't talk until he was five and had massive meltdowns. He has made great gains and he is a truly a miracle.

My husband Rick is doing great. This year he traveled with our nephew Mike and Jordan to Boston, to see the legendary Michael Jordan inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was star struck and there are no words to describe his excitement. They stopped along the way to visit Niagara Falls and Ground Zero. Rick and Jordan following their tradition enjoyed The New York Yankee’s baseball game. They would like to visit every ball park in America creating memories for Jordan to cherish long after we are gone. He is still landscaping and enjoying bowling and an occasional game of golf.

Last but not least this leaves me. I’m trying to clear off my plate and make room for enjoying my life. I want to experience more fun and engaging activities with family and friends. The last few years have been a whirlwind for me always working and continually busy with autism projects which I love doing. This past year many of my friends have suffered with illness and I have lost individuals that were very important to my life. I will miss them terribly, but I will never ever forget them. The memories will live on in my heart and I will cherish them forever.

So in closing, I hope this coming year brings your family, Health, Prosperity and Happiness.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best Wishes,
The Brunett Family
