Night of Too Many Stars - An Overbooked Concert For Autism Education

Can you believe it Comedy Central I have found out has been doing an autism awareness event since 2005. They call it the Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Concert For Autism Education has raised close to seven million dollars since 2005.

The 2010 event will premiere on Comedy Central on Thursday, October 21 at 9:00 PM ET/PT

One exciting new initiative is The Institute for Brain Development – an all-inclusive diagnosis and treatment center positioned to undertake groundbreaking collaborative research into the causes and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. The Institute is the product of New York Center for Autism's partnership with New York-Presbyterian and its affiliated medical school of Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medical College.

The New York Center for Autism, founded in 2003 has been an instrumental force in model programs, education and serving children on the autism spectrum and their families. NYCA has also fostered collaboration an dialogue within the autism community nationwide. The purpose of NYCA is to address the serious gaps in the areas of education, training, clinical services, support and research related to ASD.

Kudos to Comedy Central and the stars like Lewis Black, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, Joel McHale, John Oliver, Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman as they support the autism cause!
