From Barely Surviving to Thriving

Stress is one thing. Caretaker stress is a completely different world!

We hear all of the time that we need to take care of ourselves first, but how does one do that when you don’t have TIME, MONEY, OPPORTUNITY, ACCESS?  The reality of a special needs caretaker is that you are living in scarcity mode. And scarcity mode equals stress. But you knew that already, right?  Karen will help you find your spirit and learn how to reduce your stress. All of the techniques presented in this course are things you can do at home, in the moment.

Make sure you see Amy Yardley on Wednesday to hear the first part of this presentaion.

Karen Kain

Karen Kain is a longtime advocate for parents of vaccine-injured children. Karen's daughter, Lorrin, was vaccine injured at 6 weeks of age in 1994. HHS never argued the cause of injury, and Lorrin settled in vaccine court in 1998. Lorrin lived her life as a quadriplegic, cortically blind, nonverbal young lady. She was always a teacher always in a place of love and compassion. She had best friends, loved to shop, hated to share, and had a wicked sense of humor. Lorrin was totally comfortable with who she was. Lorrin died at the age of 15 in 2009. Since that time, Karen has traveled around the United States talking to families of children who are living a unique life experience. Karen is the author of a book called, “A Unique Life Fully Lived.”
